Shaped cards

Happy Wednesday!

We are doing shaped cards with the cricut today at My Cricut Craft room....my favorite use for the cricut. Today I bring you a very special elegant card I made using the Folk Art Festival Cricut Cartridge and Perfect Pearls from Ranger. I made this card for my husband as our anniversary is in a few weeks.

  • The Pony Cart Font Shadow (shift)  @ 4.2"w x 8.49"h (pg. 70)
  • Same page, Font Blackout (shift) @ .25" smaller to mat inside
  • Midnight Blue smooth cardstock
  • Ivory cardstock
  • Cutcardstock.com Gold metallic cardstock
  • Vellum cardstock
  • Background stamp from Hero Arts
  • "Devoted to you" sentiment from Scrappy Moms stamps' Furry Friends (It really reads "Toad-ally devoted to you" but I cut the stamp to just use the devoted to you part)
  • "My Sweetheart" sentiment from Fiskars
  1. First I cut the card base and inside mat, using the inside mat negative (or left over part) I used it as a mask to cover the edge of the outside part of the card to give it a more finished look.
  2. Once this was covered, I used Versamark Ink and Ranger's Perfect Pearls in gold to create a STUNNING gold detail on the outside card.
  3. Next, I cut a strip of the gold metallic cardstock at 3/4" and long enough that it would cover the card going across. Embossed this strip using CB's Swirls embossing folder.
  4. Used a strip of Vellum cardstock and cut the scallops with scallops scissors (on dimensionals) for the edge around the metallic belly-band like strip.
  5. Using SU! Fancy Label punch (you can also use your Cricut, there's a free fancy label image on CCR) I punched out two labels, one in the dark blue and one in gold.
  6. I embossed the top using the same embossing folder used above and stamped the image using gold embossing powder
- Gold rose button

I left the flash on so you could see the beautiful shiny effect of the gold accents!

Tuesday Print and Cut - Corsette Bridal Shower Invitation

Happy Tuesday!

Today I bring you a gorgeous corsette shaped card or invitation, perfect for bridal showers. I originally was inspired by this pin: http://pinterest.com/pin/133700682660289272/, after seeing this, I wanted to recreate and do a print template version of this myself.

**Updated post**
You can cut this free as long as you have Cricut Basic Fonts and Shapes linked to your CCR account.
All Mini Users can cut this free also (yay!)

Print and cut files:
Corsette Word Document: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BytMKjxmwXy0Q1ZlUVJISnBmYXM/edit?usp=sharing
Corsette CCR file: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BytMKjxmwXy0Q1ZlUVJISnBmYXM/edit?usp=sharing
Corsette Gypsy file: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BytMKjxmwXy0Q2I2NU96X1BIRmc/edit?usp=sharing ( created in CCR, not sure how compatible the cuts may be)

Remember, if you have questions on how to do this, there are step by step instructions, just hit the Getting Started link at the top of this website.

Notes: you will only need half of the first and third corsette, however CCR does not allow you to slice. You can slice with a paper trimmer.
You will need to make the circles to thread the ribbon through yourself.

Have fun with this. If you like this series, please remember to subscribe and follow this site.
